Email your MP - We need your voice to ban routine use of antibiotics in factory farming

Our ground breaking investigation reveals that antibiotic-resistant superbugs have leached out of factory farms and into the UK’s rivers.

This represents a huge public health risk. We could be about to unwittingly unleash another devastating global pandemic.

We need you to add your voice to the call for a ban on the routine use of antibiotics in factory farming. Please write to your MP, calling on them to urge environment secretary, Therese Coffey, to bring in the ban as soon as possible.

Antibiotics are used to prop up the dire health of animals kept in unspeakably cruel conditions. But deadly strains of disease mutate to resist these antibiotics. Already 1 million people a year are dying from infections that can no longer be treated with antibiotics. That figure is forecast to reach 10 million a year by 2050. Our collective future is on the line. We cannot afford to wait any longer.

The EU’s ban on the routine use of antibiotics on farm animals earlier this year has seen many European countries reduce the use of antibiotics far below that of our own agricultural industry.

Together, we can make sure the UK government follows suit.

By taking action, you’re helping us create a safer, more humane global farming system. So please write to your MP today. It takes only a minute and can make all the difference. Thank you so much for your support.
