For years the UK Government has promised to introduce new laws to protect animals, but these laws are now under threat.
It is very disappointing to see that the Kept Animals (England, Scotland, and Wales only) and Animals Abroad Bills may be withdrawn. Passing these laws would:
• Stop live exports of animals for fattening and slaughter
• Ban the keeping of primates as pets
• Ban the import of fur, hunting trophies and foie gras
• End the advertising of cruel elephant rides abroad
These Bills may be dropped to save parliamentary time to focus on the war in Ukraine, which is at the front of all of our minds. So we're urging the Government to deliver on its previous commitments to help protect animals, when parliamentary time allows.
Please tell your MP that animal welfare must not be forgotten.
Animals deserve to live a life free from cruelty and exploitation.
Please take 30 seconds to send a pre-written email, it will have a huge impact for animals.
