Email TUI's board members, demanding an end to dolphin exploitation

Last November Expedia Group committed to stop selling captive dolphin entertainment. This was a huge step in our mission to make this the last generation of dolphins suffering in captivity.

Now we need your help again as we tell other travel companies that it is unacceptable for them to keep profiting from captive dolphins.

Last week we were invited to meet with TUI, one of the remaining travel giants who still profit from dolphin cruelty.

Disappointingly they were not willing to drop their ticket sales and will keep profiting from captive dolphins, despite the huge change in public attitudes towards this type of entertainment.

In a few days from now (8 February), TUI will hold its annual general meeting. We need you to tell their board members that it's not okay for them to profit from the exploitation of these highly intelligent and social wild animals.

Please take 30 seconds to send a pre-written email, it will have a huge impact for dolphins.

This is what your email will say...

Important issue for TUI AGM

I would like to raise an important issue ahead of your AGM on 8 February.

TUI Group are still profiting from captive dolphin entertainment despite endless scientific literature showing that dolphins suffer in barren tanks and cannot thrive in captivity. Public acceptability is dropping and other large travel companies such as Expedia Group, TripAdvisor and Virgin Holidays have already taken the decision to stop selling tickets to these venues.

TUI currently sell tickets to dolphin venues across the world, profiting from the captivity of over 350 dolphins. Not only are you profiting from the suffering of those dolphins but you are perpetuating an image of acceptability to an industry that affects over 3000 dolphins worldwide, including some that are still brutally taken from the wild.

As the world’s largest integrated leisure tourism business, the TUI brand is synonymous with fun family holidays and your sustainability strategy talks about creating a better world, so why are you still selling holidays that ultimately lead to the suffering of wild animals?

TripAdvisor, British Airways, Virgin Holidays and most recently Expedia Group have all stopped selling tickets to captive dolphin venues.

TUI, the time is now.

There are many ways you can use your influence as a TUI Board Member – please use your position to help make this the last generation of dolphins in captivity.

Best wishes,
