Urge your MP to oppose the expansion of factory farming

The Government’s newly announced agriculture plans include changes to local building and farming rules, which could devastate efforts to protect animals and the planet.

Their proposals risk promoting industrial farming practices that hurt animals, contribute to climate change, and destroy ecosystems.

One concerning aspect of the Government’s plans is the proposal to make it easier for farmers to build or expand factory farms, like large-scale chicken sheds. These sheds house thousands of chickens in cramped, barren conditions, denying them the ability to engage in natural behaviours and subjecting them to the cruellest of conditions. They also pollute their surrounding environments creating ecological dead zones as seen in the Wye Valley, with devastating impacts on wildlife.

Your voice is vital

In the coming weeks, we have a chance to influence the Government’s agricultural policy. We need MPs to stand up for a future without factory farming – one where the welfare of animals, people, and the planet is prioritised.

This is about the kind of future we want to create. Factory farming causes immense suffering to animals and is a major driver of the climate crisis. The UK must take a leading role in tackling industrial farming to secure a kinder, greener and healthier future for everyone.

Animals not far from you are suffering horrifically – locked in tiny cages, barren pens and sheds, deprived of natural sunlight, mutilated and in fear every day of their lives. It isn’t ‘another place’ problem, it’s our problem.

Contact your MP today and make your voice heard

Together, we can fight for an end to industrial farming and for farming systems that truly protect animals, people, and the planet.
